This section features handmade
Southwestern Clock Designs from three distinct sources.
These include the
Terracotta Patio Clocks shown above from Marty and Monique Lightner ,
"Designs by Monique, LLC" who reside in Scottsdale, Arizona.
They are formed, by hand, from natural terracotta clay, imprinted, hand
painted, and fired in a kiln to 1850 degrees for 8 hours, hardening the
pieces to an almost indestructible product. Each piece is original
because no two are exactly the same. The terracotta pieces are then
mounted with quartz clock movements and individually boxed with battery
included. The four designs available in this section make wonderful gifts for
a kitchen or patio with a Southwestern Decor.
We also feature a 16 inch
diameter Indian Shield Design clock handmade by Jay L. Tschudy, an American
Blackfoot Indian who lives in Phoenix, Arizona. This wonderful design is
typical of the work done by Jay in Copper, Brass, and Steel and many of his
works are featured in his catalog section in our swdecor website.
The third featured style is a
Sand Painted Clock which is hand made by the Navajo Indians from Northern
Arizona. This clock is exquisitely made and framed in an oak frame and
will serve to complement any room with a Southwestern design.
