Daena has now converted several
of her Watercolors to Giclee's as above
Painting was an easy choice for
Daena-- she began at the age of five and sold her first painting at seven.
Daena studied Southwestern
Literature at Northern Arizona University which lead to her interest in all
things Southwestern. She researches her subjects carefully often using
prehistoric symbols of rain, sun, clouds, and animals to further express her
feelings. Her paintings range from Indian braves and medicine men
to horses, wolves, coyotes and other animals to Southwestern landscapes.
Her work is displayed in all fifty
states, over 110 private collections, including the Barry Goldwater
Estate. Daena has recently begun to paint her subjects in a more contemporary
manner and has some of her contemporary watercolor paintings currently for
sale in a New York gallery.
Daena has chosen pottery and
authentic Indian artifacts as subjects, enabling her to show her skill
and expression in handling a most difficult media--watercolor. This medium
allows her to make the images appear loose, tight, brilliant or dull, soft or
vibrant, giving her a full range of expression.
